 Company Overview

The Centre for Life Insurance and Financial Education (CLIFE) is focused on providing continuing education courses to Life and A&S agents, CFP Professionals and CPAs across Canada. Our goal is to become Canada’s leading provider of continuing education (CE) by offering accredited course material through email that will advance knowledge and understanding of the industry.

We aim to exceed expectations of insurance regulators and provide CE that develops and enhances professional competency. Our courses have important knowledge to impart, and each course is a learning experience that agents and advisors can leverage to add value to their client relationships.

CLIFE is a privately owned company.


 Management Team

CLIFE has been created by people with years of experience in Canadian life insurance education and training.

Susan Yatessusan_yates
Susan graduated from the University of Waterloo, and after living abroad working for the Government of Bermuda for two years, began her career in the book publishing industry. She became Managing Director of Global Press and responsible for the annual publishing program of Canada Publishing Corporation, including the prestigious Who’s Who in Canada. After leaving Canada Publishing, Susan initiated publishing projects with CTV, the Canadian Olympic Committee, President’s Choice, Investor’s Group, the Co-operators, and Sears Canada. She subsequently became involved with publishing for the financial services industry and has authored numerous editions of the Life License Qualification Program (LLQP) course, in addition to continuing education courses on leveraging, financial planning, and retirement planning.

Tap Salmitap_salmi
Tap is the President of CLIFE. He brings to CLIFE over 25 years’ experience in sales, marketing and media relations and has held Senior Sales and Marketing Management positions in educational publishing, business management and manufacturing software applications. He is a graduate of the University of Toronto.

Tap has written web, sales and presentation content, and numerous media pieces that have received broad coverage in targeted areas.

He has developed and managed partner relationships and strategic alliances across the globe; and, has been a speaker/presenter at workshops, seminars and conferences across North America. Tap swims competitively with the Master Ducks swim team based in Aurora, ON, and is an occasional hockey player.



Niles Salminiles_salmi
Niles earned his B.B.A with a concentration in General Business Management and Entrepreneurship at Bishop's University in the Eastern Townships of Quebec. Recently, Niles was involved in the Pulp & Paper Industry in a position that crossed many different facets of the work environment. Niles’ people skills allow him to effectively communicate with people from all walks of life. He incorporates these skills at CLIFE to ensure clients are fully satisfied with their Continuing Education experience. Niles's energy, optimism, willingness to learn, and generally easy-going approach makes him an asset to the company in addition to being a joy to work with. When he isn’t helping Advisors, Agents, and CFPs with their Continuing Education, you’ll find Niles as a valued team player on one of many hockey teams!

Our focus is on continuing education for insurance agents and financial planners, especially for those agents and planners who seek a higher standard in learning. Our attention is not diverted into other financial services industry groups or learning efforts. This specialization means that we have a unique understanding of what information agents and advisors must have to become top performers, and stay that way.

2.    Timely Information
Too much continuing education provided in this country is stale and shop-worn. Our objective is to provide you with speaker commentary based on new developments and their impact on agent and advisor business practices. As events unfold, we will respond with information relevant to insurance agents.

3.    All Canadian
Our speakers, our sessions, and our company are Canadian-based. We do not import speakers or their sessions from outside Canada, and then attempt to Canadianize foreign content. Our suppliers are also all Canadian companies.

4.    Superior Service
We aim to retain every client by providing a superior product with the best customer service. We will always be open to hearing our clients’ opinions, thoughts, and ideas in an effort to make our product beyond compare. We will respond to concerns or problems immediately, address or fix them, and apologize for our mistakes. Only by being trustworthy, can we feel we have earned the trust of our clients.
